Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Neurodiagnostic Technology
- Must have completed the first semester of on-site learning and clinicals
- Proficient in the 10-20 EEG application method
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency
Responsibilities
- Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs), portable inpatient EEG, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) EEG
- Prepares patient for exam and performs exams and procedures
- Gathers a comprehensive patient history and explains test procedures to patient and family members
- Performs procedures according to laboratory standards and implements alternative methods to obtain optimal recordings
- Recognizes patient and/or environmental artifact and documents or eliminates it
- Debriefs with established Neurodiagnostic tech upon completion of study
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and reports to supervisor
- Maintains a specialty cart or item, ensuring its completeness and availability
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties
