Requirements
- Masters’ or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
- Solid research background in media streaming storage and delivery, media processing, high-level syntax for codec.
- 5+ years of experience with multimedia system standards such as ISOBMFF file format, RTP payload, MPEG-DASH, OMAF
- Self-reliant, technical mindset oriented.
- Proficient in C++ and C programming.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player.
- Available and willing to travel.
- Fluent in English
- Willing and motivated to learn French if not French speaker.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate and contribute to MPEG, SVTA, DBV or 3GPP SA4 standardization activities, including one or more of high-level syntax for codecs (2D, immersive, AI based), file format, carriage, realtime and streaming protocols.
- Research on system technologies and solutions for multimedia centric processing, storage and delivery applications.
- Document and present novel media streaming technologies and implementations in various forms, such as standards contributions, conference and journal publications, technical white papers, patent applications, etc.
- Develop system solutions to support emerging applications such as Machine Learning compressed media and formats, AI/ML or XR services, with a focus on driving optimized multimedia experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience being a standards delegate to MPEG, JVET, DVB, or 3GPP is a plus.
- Proven track record of publications in first-tier conferences and/or journals is a plus.
