Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with specializations in mammography and X-ray.
- 2 years of relevant experience in mammography or X-ray imaging.
- Skilled in operating mammography and X-ray equipment.
- Proficient in administering contrast media and medications.
- Ability to evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
Responsibilities
- Explain imaging procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
- Position imaging equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of the patient’s body.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
- Operate mammography and X-ray equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Follow physicians’ orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation.
- Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice.
- Review and evaluate developed images to determine if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure it is safe and in working order.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and reactions during and after imaging procedures.
- Address any patient concerns or adverse reactions promptly.
- Provide post-procedure instructions and support to patients.
- Maintain imaging supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing orders.
- Ensure a clean and organized working environment in the imaging suite.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- 3 years of experience as a Multi-Modality Tech or in a similar role.
- Additional certifications in advanced imaging modalities.
