Requirements
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification required with minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, equipment, diagnostic testing, and patient care practices.
- Strong ability to educate and mentor staff on clinical processes, procedures, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient care and team development.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Managing patient flow, coordinating with ophthalmologists and staff, ensuring smooth clinical workflows, and overseeing patient care protocols.
- Providing continuous education for clinical staff on best practices, new technologies, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Ensuring all ophthalmic equipment is functioning properly, coordinating repairs and service agreements, and overseeing routine maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all clinical and operational tasks adhere to safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or a related field preferred.
