Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 6 months of experience as an Electrical Engineer OR a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
- Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: Six months of Domain experience acquired designing data centers and Radio Frequency (RF) Gateway racks within the satellite broadband data network industry.
- Six months of experience drafting electrical engineering schematics to support RF hardware or circuit design.
- Six months of experience employing LabVIEW based testing tools for hardware or systems design.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan and execute aspects of electrical engineering projects related to the design of the data centers and Radio Frequency (RF) Gateway racks required for the company’s operations in the satellite broadband data network industry.
- Work closely with the relevant project managers to conduct engineering requirements analysis of the unique operational requirements of external network clients, and the constraints of their existing network infrastructure, to establish data center plans.
- Create and execute designs for circuit boards for custom hardware equipment based on requirements, testing the design for accuracy, troubleshooting design issues.
- Use software tools to simulate circuit behavior and analyze key performance metrics to identify potential issues before physical implementation, develop prototypes to perform hands-on testing and to verify that it meets the design specification.
- Develop and implement plans to emulate on-premises data center and gateway infrastructure to provide efficiency or cost advantages; establish the key requirements for emulation; recommend available off-the-shelf cloud solutions; determine optimal configurations and service levels.
- Plan the overall design verification testing process for new or modified RF Gateway racks and data center components, to include implementing the use of LabVIEW-based testing automation.
- Collect and analyze operational network data and external client feedback to identify emerging issues electrical component designs; coordinate with other engineering teams to design a range of tests (both in hardware and in simulation), to troubleshooting design problems, and to develop strategies to optimize data center operations.
- Execute product failure analysis at the production stage and provide root-cause analysis with full documentation and recommendations for solutions.
