Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
- Graduate from an accredited Magnetic Resonance Program
- CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist
- ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist
- ARRT (MRI) – Radiography – American Register of Radiologic Technologists
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- 5 years recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment
- Capable of performing routine MRI examinations
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Possess written and verbal communications skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems
- Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI)
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures
- Produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease
- Exercise sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures
- Deliver accurate results in a timely manner
- Gain confidence and cooperation from patients and their families
- Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
- May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or help orient other staff to the department
