Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in an Engineering and/or Science discipline
- Three (3) years of manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, process development, product development, EHS, and/or Quality in a private, public, government or military environment
Responsibilities
- Initiating, identifying, recommending, and leading projects in the Medical Molding Department to improve: process safety and health/environmental impact, quality, service, and product cost
- Being responsible for performing and guiding technical activities resulting from approved, self-initiated, or assigned manufacturing programs which can include new process development, process validation, process improvements, and manufacturing scale-up
- Providing appropriate and timely documentation of work as required by the business unit and being responsible for helping update operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and leading Medical Change Management Processes
- Establishing and cultivating an extensive network of support (laboratory, quality, financial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, sales and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments
- Willingness to be on-call for paging if there are plant alarms or extensive equipment downtime
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Plastics Engineering/ Plastics Engineering Technology or related field
- Experience in plastics injection molding, molding processes, molding equipment, molding materials, and/or mold tooling
- Experience and knowledge of Scientific molding principles, including but not limited to, the ability to perform tonnage calculations, review mold and machine specifications and determine compatibility, troubleshooting, injection unit capacity, cooling / flow requirements, plastics/resin property understanding
- Experience in medical validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and project management
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible to changes; responds with a sense of urgency
