Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Implement P&C’s MBD strategy to guide and apply model-based design practices throughout the organization, while offering recommendations for future improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality) to promote MBD adoption and ensure smooth integration across product development stages
  • Stay current with the latest developments in MBD tools, CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo), and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter RAC and AWC), and drive the selection and implementation of the most efficient solutions, ensuring the company leverages cutting-edge technologies to stay competitive
  • Oversee the development and integration of 3D models, PMI (Product Manufacturing Information), and digital twins into the product design process
  • Optimize the use of 3D CAD models, PMI (Product Manufacturing Information), product data management (PDM), and PLM systems to enable better product definition and reduce reliance on traditional 2D drawings
  • Help maintain internal MBD standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines (e.g., ASME Y14.41, ASME Y14.47, MIL-STD-31000)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in product design and development, with a strong focus on Model-Based Design (MBD) or related methodologies
  • Proven experience in leading MBD initiatives, developing workflows, and training teams in MBD best practices
  • Experience in applying MBD principles, including 3D annotations, PMI (Product Manufacturing Information), and digital thread concepts
  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo) and PDM/PLM systems
  • Proven track record of driving MBD implementation and managing digital transformation projects
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing and digital twins
  • Experience in industries such as aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
  • Certification in model-based design or related methodologies
  • Experience in stakeholder management and ensuring that all teams remain aligned to business objectives, while maintaining a customer-centric approach
  • Proven track record of driving team accountability for meeting project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
