Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in oral and written communication with leadership teams and other engineering groups.
  • Experience applying critical thinking toward problem solving in time-critical situations.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems.
  • Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand.
  • Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.
  • Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies.
  • Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries.
  • Crosstrain in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team.
  • Lead interactions and support all missions to include the initialization of new missions.
  • Work program level priorities to implement process improvements relevant to the mission supported.
  • Periodic travel and availability to work overtime.
  • Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles.
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment.
  • Proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platform.
  • Experience with Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
