Mission Initialization Engineer

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering or equivalent experience.
Experienced in oral and written communication with leadership teams and other engineering groups.
Experience applying critical thinking toward problem solving in time-critical situations.
An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems.
Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand.
Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.
Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies.
Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries.
Crosstrain in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team.
Lead interactions and support all missions to include the initialization of new missions.
Work program level priorities to implement process improvements relevant to the mission supported.
Periodic travel and availability to work overtime.
Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people).

Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles.
Experience working in a virtual team environment.
Proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platform.
Experience with Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
