Requirements
- High school diploma/GED equivalent with 1 year of production experience
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience having leadership responsibilities in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated understanding of safety hazards and protocols
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations; insuring team members are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety
- Identify operational discrepancies and provide focused solutions with a timeline for corrective action
- Provide troubleshooting assistance and communication to the larger group during downtime/adverse events
- Assist with training team members and ensuring the requisite documentation is in place
- Work with the milling and production teams to continuously improve the production process, improve safety, reduce production costs, and enhance product quality
- Partners with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures
- Monitors production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications while providing recommendations for continuous improvements
- Participate and lead process improvement initiatives including Centerlining, Preventative Maintenance, Pristine, 5S and ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day Safely)
- Partners with local plant management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics control, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc.)
- Develops planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees
- Take counts, correct discrepancies, and provide corrective actions/investigations to solve for any inventory count outside of variance range in the digital Vs physical count
- Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition as well as development and coaching to hourly members
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting systems
- Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes
- Reliability centered maintenance training around equipment best practices
- Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
