- Master’s Degree in Nursing Midwifery Specialty
- 1 Year hospital-based delivery experience.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) – CA Board of Registered Nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association
- California Nurse-Midwife Certificate – CA Board of Registered Nursing
- Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) – American Midwifery Certification Board, Inc. (AMCB)
- California Nurse Midwife Furnishing Number (NMF) – CA Board of Registered Nursing
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Various-Employee provides certificate
- DEA Controlled Substance Registration – U.S. Department of Justice
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) – U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Responsibilities
- Manage the care of patients throughout their pregnancy, including antepartum and postpartum care.
- Round on postpartum patients, triage patients, and manage admissions, labor/induction patients, and discharge patients as needed.
- Independently provide full scope midwifery care to childbearing women under supervision of Ob-Gyn and/or in collaboration with them.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, including completion of safety modules and participation in safety-related activities.
- Communicate positively and timely with patients, visitors, staff members, and physicians; handle problems professionally and proactively.
- Participate in processes to improve clinic outcomes, patient satisfaction, and clinic efficiency.
- Provide individual and/or group experiences to health professional students in the clinic/hospital setting as a preceptor.
- Provide full scope midwifery care in outpatient and inpatient settings, including primary care, ante-partum, intra-partum, postpartum, and family planning.
- Attend and participate in various meetings to facilitate coordination of care between medical and educational components.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 Years full scope midwifery experience.
- Moderate-risk ante-partum experience
- Out-of-hospital delivery experience.
