Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ CE (IAT Level II) – Baseline DoD IA certification for system administrators.
  • RHCSA – Core Linux system administration certification.
  • Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories.
  • Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
  • Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with typically 2+ years of experience, or a Master’s with typically 0+ years of experience.
  • Must possess TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
  • Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
  • Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate – Validates capability to manage workloads on AWS.
  • Azure Security Engineer Associate – Strengthens skills in securing Azure identities and resources.
  • CKA – Confirms ability to install, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters.
  • Azure Administrator Associate or MCSE: Windows Server – Credential for managing Windows and Azure server environments.
