Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or other clinical specialty
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical role, which includes experience in oncology
  • Includes 3 years of leadership experience in hospital staffing including staffing, budget and supply management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including project management, change management, process improvement, problem solving, decision making, prioritization, delegation, team building, team member mentoring, customer service and conflict resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Ability to successfully and positively interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and the public
  • Intermediate computer skills including experiences in using computer applications in a medical practice setting and presentation applications such as Power Point and database applications such as Excel

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and ensures safe clinical practice for all areas of accountability
  • Leads efficient clinic operations, ensuring a high level of productivity and providing operational and technical direction
  • Continually monitors the functioning of assigned clinics and departments, resolves problems, and revises operations as needed
  • Analyzes department data to evaluate strengths and weaknesses providing recommendations and feedback to physicians, staff and leaders
  • Assists the PSA Executive Director in site and PSA level strategic planning and growth tactics
  • Partners with physicians, Business Development and other key stakeholders to execute growth tactics and meet targets
  • Maintains clinical expertise and stays abreast in clinical issues related to the oncology service line
  • Supports and facilitates clinical staff in meeting the clinical, physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and financial needs of patients and their significant others
  • Leads front line leaders of cross functional teams of areas of accountabilities
  • Serves as Practice Manager for AMG and contracted physician clinics who practice in areas of accountabilities
  • Responsible for day to day operations, strategic planning and execution
  • Assists AMG Director in ensuring AMG Care Coordination and RVU goals
  • Develops plans for integration and implementation of new programs
  • Ensures consistent application of treatment procedures through the establishment of procedures, policies, and standards of care
  • Represents site cancer service line for Magnet accreditation, DNV surveys and other regulatory activities in partnership with hospital leadership
  • Represents areas of accountability for site hospital huddles and other site level meetings/activities
  • Reviews and completes safety event processes
  • Leads follow up, including RCAs, as appropriate
  • Oversees area purchases to ensure appropriateness, maintenance of inventory control and cost containment
  • Approves invoices in Supply Chain database in accordance with approved processes
  • Prepares and processes Advocate Charitable Foundation transfer request forms and other financial transactions per department needs
  • Partners with site level Advocate Charitable Foundation team on philanthropic opportunities for the cancer service line
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with physicians and advanced practice professionals
  • Directly oversees APCs in areas of accountability in partnership with the supervising/coordinating attending physician
  • Coordinates the flow of information internally and to other departments to maintain quality of care
  • Partners with other market departments and leaders to assure quality patient services and overall patient satisfaction
  • Responsible for resolution of any patient concerns, complaints and/or problems
  • Organizes, plans, and implements system changes and improvements
  • Assists in establishing and complying with area procedural manuals as well as re-enforcing and complying with all DNV, CMS standards and state and federal regulatory agency regulations
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives
