Requirements
- Licensed RN in the state of California or ability to procure CA RN prior to start.
- Current BCLS certification and Certifications as per Title 22.
- College degree in related field or significant experience preferred.
- Three years minimum supervisory and administrative experience, inclusive of budgeting and program development.
- Two years or more working with senior adults.
- Valid unrestricted California nursing license and certification in gerontology nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direction of resident care in the skilled nursing setting.
- Manages nursing team members.
- Consults with staff and management team on nursing problems and interpretation of organizational policies to ensure resident needs are met.
- Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
- Assists in formulating budget.
- Initiates the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the Nursing Services in collaboration with appropriate services.
- Participates in SNF planning, decision making and policy formulation at management meetings.
- Maintains regulatory requirements.
- Engages and support our Assisted Living and Memory Care programs and other departments within the CCRC structure.
- Plans, develops, implements and controls the annual budget for the nursing personnel.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the geriatric resident and short term stay / rehabilitation programs.
- Evaluates nursing staff ability to assess and care for residents.
- Coordinates and directs resident care and education by monitoring care plans and coaching nursing staff to improve the quality of care rendered.
- Oversees the assessment of all residents and the completion and updating the Minimum Data Sets and Care Plans.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring, staffing, coaching and disciplinary actions of Skilled Nursing Facility staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in related field or significant experience preferred.
- Valid unrestricted California nursing license and certification in gerontology nursing preferred.
