Requirements

  • Licensed RN in the state of California or ability to procure CA RN prior to start.
  • Current BCLS certification and Certifications as per Title 22.
  • College degree in related field or significant experience preferred.
  • Three years minimum supervisory and administrative experience, inclusive of budgeting and program development.
  • Two years or more working with senior adults.
  • Valid unrestricted California nursing license and certification in gerontology nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direction of resident care in the skilled nursing setting.
  • Manages nursing team members.
  • Consults with staff and management team on nursing problems and interpretation of organizational policies to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
  • Assists in formulating budget.
  • Initiates the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the Nursing Services in collaboration with appropriate services.
  • Participates in SNF planning, decision making and policy formulation at management meetings.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Engages and support our Assisted Living and Memory Care programs and other departments within the CCRC structure.
  • Plans, develops, implements and controls the annual budget for the nursing personnel.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the geriatric resident and short term stay / rehabilitation programs.
  • Evaluates nursing staff ability to assess and care for residents.
  • Coordinates and directs resident care and education by monitoring care plans and coaching nursing staff to improve the quality of care rendered.
  • Oversees the assessment of all residents and the completion and updating the Minimum Data Sets and Care Plans.
  • Participates in the interviewing, hiring, staffing, coaching and disciplinary actions of Skilled Nursing Facility staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in related field or significant experience preferred.
  • Valid unrestricted California nursing license and certification in gerontology nursing preferred.
