Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Med Lab Science or biological science degree, with MT/MLS certification
- If not certified, applicant must obtain MLS certification within 1 year of hire, with first board of certification test attempt within the first six months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine automated and manual procedures
- Verifies and reports test requests and results
- Handles phone inquiries regarding patient results, specimen collection, and testing frequency
- Uses the laboratory computer system to review reports and call critical values to various healthcare professionals
- Performs and documents quality control, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance on instrumentation
- Works under the direction of the lab manager and lead technologist(s)
