Requirements

  • Experience in a medical clinic setting preferred, such as a Transcriptionist, Medical Assistant (MA) or Medical Scribe. Medical Scribe experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to audio recordings or receive real-time direction from physicians and other advanced care providers to document patient encounters, including medical history, physical examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Utilize AI-powered transcription and documentation tools as directed to assist in the transcription process.
  • Review and edit transcriptions (including those generated by AI) for accuracy, spelling, grammar, clarity, and correct medical terminology.
  • Produce medical reports, records, and correspondence for providers as needed.
  • Maintain and organize both electronic and paper records related to patient care for multiple patients simultaneously.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the practice.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with providers, staff, and patients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace and experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong keyboarding skills with meticulous attention to detail in transcription.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
