Requirements
- Associates Degree in Medical Technology or related science
- Current Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP) or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in assigned technical area
Responsibilities
- Serve as the resource person for their assigned area(s) of responsibility
- Monitor section processes and assure compliance with all accrediting agencies
- Assist lab staff with resolution of problems involving technical operations
- Perform as a bench technologist/technician
- Assist the laboratory with ensuring technical operational policies, procedures and protocols are up-to-date
- Aid in the selection and implementation of new instrumentation and/or tests
- Participate in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service
- Maintain accurate logs, records, files and all other required documentation
- Write and revise technical procedures
- Investigate and report errors
- Monitor supply and equipment inventory
- Notify leadership team of needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance
