- Strong analytical and image interpretation skills, with the ability to accurately identify and annotate complex medical features in MRI scans.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, disease pathology, and diagnostic imaging modalities, with a focus on MRI.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify discrepancies and maintain high annotation accuracy and consistency.
- Previous experience in research and literature review required, including the ability to synthesize findings to inform annotation protocols, model development, and regulatory documentation.
- Research project management skills, with experience coordinating timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
- Competence in data management and basic data analytics, including the ability to organize, track, and interpret annotation and model performance data using spreadsheets or visualization tools.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end medical image annotation process, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness of ground truth data for AI model training and validation.
- Support annotation project timelines, resources, and deliverables, aligning cross-functional teams to meet quality and performance goals.
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical experts to refine annotation protocols and improve labeling strategies based on clinical best practices and AI model feedback.
- Perform detailed reviews of annotated datasets, identify discrepancies or quality issues, and provide actionable feedback to enhance annotation accuracy and reviewer consistency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including annotation guidelines, quality control protocols, tracking systems, and training materials, to support scalable and standardized workflows.
- Assist with implementing robust quality control measures to ensure adherence to best practices in radiology image annotation for AI applications.
- Conduct research, literature reviews, data analysis and visualization to assess annotation quality, model performance trends, and project progress, supporting evidence-based data-driven decision-making.
- Support regulatory and clinical validation activities, partnering with compliance teams to ensure all workflows align with relevant regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience using medical image annotation tools, particularly for MRI studies is preferred.
- Academic training or equivalent professional experience (e.g., biomedical sciences, radiology, medical imaging, or life sciences) is preferred with demonstrated expertise in anatomy, pathology, and radiology imaging—particularly sectional anatomy in MRI. Having a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MD, and/or PhD in a relevant field is an added bonus.
