Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited program for medical assistants with one year in a medical office setting preferred
• If not a graduate from a medical assisting program, then three years of experience in a medical office setting is required
• Medical Assistance Certification preferred
• Knowledge of the outpatient practice of medicine
• Must have experience in medical assisting
• Knowledge of medical practice, patient care skills, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Must possess computer skills and customer service skills
• Capable of making sound decisions
• Detail oriented and self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the patient care management
• Executes administrative and clinical procedures
• Performs supervisory functions pertaining to position
• Vital signs
• Preparing patients for examination
• Entering lab and imaging orders
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Updating patient medical records
• Answering phones
• Scheduling appointments
• Removing sutures and dressings
• Transmitting prescription refills
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
