Requirements

• Medical Assistant certificate along with a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certificate required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a back office Medical Assistant is required.
• Phlebotomy certified preferred.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification, preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and attending to the needs of all patients and creating a positive patient experience.
• Assisting in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures and technical/clerical support services in the clinical setting.
• Building relationships with patients, listening to them, and gaining their trust.
• Demonstrating compassion and respect and proactively managing patient’s expectations.
• Being an Electronic Health Record (EHR) super-user and performing more administrative responsibilities.
• Providing feedback on Back Office processes to the Clinic Management.
• Serving as a role model for ‘Care in Action’.
• Providing support and guidance to the MA team as a mentor and trainer.
• Performing other duties over the telephone if working at the Patient Service Center.
• Performing other duties related to ensuring all diagnostic test results are appropriately managed for Registry patients if working with one of the Patient Registry teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certified preferred.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification, preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location strongly preferred.
