Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in integrating, designing, and/or building mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong capabilities in 3DX/CATIA/NX/Solidworks for the development of mechanical designs and prototypes.
  • Experience in integration and packaging of electrical power plants, eVTOL, EVs and complicated high voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the strategy and packaging of the Powertrain System to meet structural and safety requirements.
  • Apply communication and negotiation skills to facilitate discussions between hardware engineering teams.
  • Use attention to detail in GD&T analyses and installation drawings to convey assembly intent.
  • Promote the use of CAD methods and standard processes within the Powertrain department.
  • Define and complete necessary hardware integration verification activities, including CAE, physical mockups, and hardware testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong mechanical engineering fundamentals across a broad range of topics.
  • Design packaging of electrical systems into an aircraft, EV, spacecraft, gas turbine, microturbine, Wind Turbine or nuclear reactor.
  • Experience drafting, piping, and updating instrumentation schematics.
  • Experience creating drawings like P&IDs, ICDs, and GADs for electrical systems, cooling loops, seal gas systems, and related rotating equipment.
