Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
• Have experience with 2D/3D CAD, FEA
• Ability to dissect a problem to help find the root cause and create a solution that addresses the issue
• Enjoys getting your hands dirty and being involved in building, testing and debugging tools throughout the development cycle
• Quality – use of statistical tools, process capability, DOE’s, stack-ups, GD&T
• Possible international travel to visit manufacturing locations

Responsibilities

• Successfully support the design process to achieve all quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment
• Perform hands-on concept development, proto-typing, product testing, data collection and definition of product specifications
• Carry out stack-ups and system analysis to ensure product assembly and functionality remain consistent throughout its lifetime
• Investigate design issues & test failures, and identify, recommend and implement corrective actions to components
• Construct 3D models to evaluate design options
• Be involved with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Reliability, Field Research) to help identify and define customer requirements and develop the tests to duplicate end user tasks
• Work in a core team of 3-4 engineers/designers to develop a product from start to finish, assure appropriate documentation is developed and maintained for component designs and engineering test results
• Support the builds of engineering, manufacturing and pilot lots to ensure that the products are assembled and tested in the correct way to ensure long term product quality
• Support the Engineering process for all engineering requirements to deliver a product that meets our history of guaranteed tough products
