Mechanic – Fire Safety Systems – Facilities Planning & Management

Vocational Diploma – Specific Trade Or Career
Working In A Particular Craft Or Multi-Craft Position (5 Years)
A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license and a good driving record are required for this position.
Must be able to obtain a Missouri Class E Driver’s License by the end of the Probationary period and cannot drive University owned vehicles until Class E Driver’s License is obtained.

Proactively identify, communicate, and address fire alarm deficiencies and failures.
Diagnose fire systems failures using a variety of diagnostic tools including, but not limited to, multi-meter, computer-based fire alarm software, electrical schematics and blueprints.
Assist in annual testing of fire alarm system including, but not limited to, smoke and heat detectors, door hold opens, smoke exhaust systems, etc.
Respond to work order requests in a timely, efficient, competent, and friendly manner.
Maintain records such as test results per department policy.
Utilize material, supplies, tools, and other University assets in a safe, and responsible manner.
Respond to work orders and other requests in a timely, efficient, competent, knowledgeable, safe/secure and friendly manner.
Willingness to work in multi-craft positions/situations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
