Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
- Competence and comfort in working independently on a personally owned PC is necessary, with typical long periods of time focused on computer work.
- Ability to understand and maintain strict confidentiality of admissions process and application data.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate within a team.
- Ability to manage time constraints and meet deadlines and reading goals set by management team.
- Ability to learn and grow from constructive feedback.
- Knowledge and attestation of Vanderbilt’s Conflict of Interest Policy and the foresight to recuse oneself from the process, due to conflict.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate candidate applications for admission to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
- Evaluate and comment, accurately and in a timely manner, as determined by supervisors, on application information in relation to the entrance requirements.
- Follow pre-determined file flow to move files through evaluation pipeline.
- Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of admissions process and application data.
- Work up to 20 hours per week on average with possibility to have additional hours when needed and approved.
- Attend all required virtual meetings and trainings throughout the year.
- Maintain and respond to office communication in a timely fashion.
- Be able to perform most work functions through extended time on a personally owned computer (logged into Vanderbilt’s VPN and application software).
- Have access to consistently reliable high-speed internet daily.
- Understand that a conflict of interest whether potential, real, or perceived between an applicant (potential or current) or institution is prohibited.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some experience in higher education, secondary school teaching, admissions, or a health profession is preferred.
