Requirements
- 5+ years experience in Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry or a similar industry.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Obtain at least two ASE Certification within the first 6 months of employment (process sponsored by Carvana).
- Must have your own tools to complete daily tasks, specialty tools will be provided by Carvana.
- Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
- Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
- Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral.
Responsibilities
- Effectively oversee day-to-day operations within the assigned technician team.
- Proactively provide the team with a clear understanding of expectations, performance measures, goals, and feedback.
- Manage invoices for all repairs completed by third-party vendors at this location.
- Manage parts room(s) according to guidelines provided by the Centralized Parts Team.
- Maintain accurate and legal records for respective ELD and fleet programs.
- Diagnose (using engine diagnostic equipment) and perform general, preventative maintenance, and DVIR for all heavy equipment. Use welders, torches, and plasma cutters to weld or fabricate broken parts.
