Requirements
- BS or MS in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in a machine shop environment
- Skills in any sheet metal manufacturing is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage the effective prioritization and resourcing for completion of projects, and problem solving efforts, to improve safety, product quality, productivity and on time delivery
- Drive continuous improvement in all systems and processes through the use of our problem solving process
- Provide the opportunities for yourself, and your team members to learn and grow on a daily basis
- Partners with all other functions to create a successful work environment that thrives on collaboration and process creation and adherence
- Function, coach, and create the necessities for a safe work environment
- Provide engineering support to assigned cells. To include the ability to analyze processes and equipment. Perform root cause analysis and drive equipment reliability and process stability
- Helps define, specify and communicate expectations for quality outcomes through the creation of standard work, quality specifications, and work instructions
- Ensures engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost, time, and quality
- Ability to assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency
- Use formal problem solving techniques to identify and resolve complex problems
- Prepare capital project requests and manage their implementation
- Assist purchasing and quality Assurance in qualifying new vendors, as needed
- Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations
- Develop and/or maintain all process documentation (i.e. routings, standard work, work instructions, setup sheets, etc.) to ensure accuracy
- Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility
- Knowledge and basic skills in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management
- Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills in any sheet metal manufacturing is a plus
