Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a machine shop environment
  • Skills in any sheet metal manufacturing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective prioritization and resourcing for completion of projects, and problem solving efforts, to improve safety, product quality, productivity and on time delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement in all systems and processes through the use of our problem solving process
  • Provide the opportunities for yourself, and your team members to learn and grow on a daily basis
  • Partners with all other functions to create a successful work environment that thrives on collaboration and process creation and adherence
  • Function, coach, and create the necessities for a safe work environment
  • Provide engineering support to assigned cells. To include the ability to analyze processes and equipment. Perform root cause analysis and drive equipment reliability and process stability
  • Helps define, specify and communicate expectations for quality outcomes through the creation of standard work, quality specifications, and work instructions
  • Ensures engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost, time, and quality
  • Ability to assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency
  • Use formal problem solving techniques to identify and resolve complex problems
  • Prepare capital project requests and manage their implementation
  • Assist purchasing and quality Assurance in qualifying new vendors, as needed
  • Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations
  • Develop and/or maintain all process documentation (i.e. routings, standard work, work instructions, setup sheets, etc.) to ensure accuracy
  • Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility
  • Knowledge and basic skills in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills in any sheet metal manufacturing is a plus
