Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • 6 years of prior supervisory experience in chemical manufacturing within a related industry.
  • Previous manufacturing experience and exceptional man management skills.
  • Knowledge of the various statutory requirements relative to the chemical industry.
  • Computer literate with advanced writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a strong safety culture and strong safety performance.
  • Leads the production team such that all employees feel valued and are engaged in site goals.
  • Ensures that the production plant is operating under the best economic conditions and conforming to statutory and company requirements.
  • Implements TPM (Total Productive Maintenance/Management) in production premises with particular emphasis on 5S and loss elimination.
  • Delivers productivity improvements to support business growth.
  • Ensures all products are manufactured in accordance with standard costs, quality specifications and packaged to meet sales demand.
  • Ensures production orders are manufactured in a timely manner adherent to schedule to attend Planned Shipping Dates agreed with customers.
  • Collaborates with research and development, and engineering departments on new developments and the introduction of new products.
  • A key member of the site leadership team.
  • Assists senior management in developing a strategic plan for future development of the site.
  • Maintains KPIs and ensures the effectiveness of daily production meetings.
  • Builds strong relationships with other department managers and works together as one site team to deliver the required results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ion exchange processing and manufacturing is desired.
