Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, or proven experience in a relevant field minimum of 10 years experience, 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Travel 25% to Customer and Test Sites

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of a novel production system for Anduril’s surface vessels
  • Own the relationships with Anduril’s key manufacturing partners for surface vessel production, managing their progress and holding them accountable for cost, quality and delivery through a phase of rapid product development and manufacturing ramp
  • Provide design-for-manufacturability (DfM) feedback to the design team, ensuring our ability to scale
  • Complete and maintain capacity analysis for our surface products, understanding at all times the limiting factors for scaling production and initiating interdisciplinary projects to remove them
  • Complete and maintain product NRE and COGS models to understand the major cost drivers of NPI and production
  • Contribute to major CapEx planning, including facility expansion and factory design
  • Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing, integrating and testing hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc
  • Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardware
  • Integrate and immerse yourself in Anduril’s product development approach and build effective relationships with personnel across multiple business lines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience running complex external projects, such as a production ramp at a contract manufacturer
  • Experience owning commercial responsibility (cost) for complex external projects
  • Experience driving process improvements in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with maritime systems and military customers
  • Experience working with prototype and production manufacturing methods – large format 3D printing, casting, welding, machining, stamping, etc. Familiar with the supply chain and vendor management for these technologies.
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.). Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus
