Requirements

  • BS of Engineering or Engineering technology from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong technical understanding of industrial machinery and work experience in a manufacturing environment (tube shop is a plus)
  • Familiarity with welding, cleaning, non-destructive testing, metrology, and hydrostatic proof testing is a plus
  • Experience working with design engineers, tooling engineers, safety, planners, operations, and quality in a fast-paced productivity driven work environment
  • Experience authoring and writing work instructions into an electronic MES system
  • Proven ability to independently make meaningful positive change through significant process improvements with strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong digital literacy (MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Manufacturing Execution System, SQL is a plus)
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (CREO)
  • Experience with crane lifts of high value hardware
  • Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the fabrication of flight ready tubes, ducts, flex lines, and other ancillary components
  • Disposition nonconformance’s and rectify root cause within service level agreements
  • Identify and Lead process improvement initiatives for manufacturing rate-enablement
  • Provide shipside support to operations and be the technical point of contact during execution of processes
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations and identify problem source
  • Promptly clear production blocks with strong engineering decision-making skills
  • Challenge unnecessary requirements and drive the appropriate actions to eliminate them when applicable
  • Review designs and manufacturing plans for manufacturability, process efficiency, and operator safety
  • Transform design definition into consumable step-by-step work instructions for manufacturing
  • Integrate safety, specifications, standards, and best practices into manufacturing definition
  • Define, develop, implement and optimize work instructions
  • Evaluate and improve process flow, design requirements, and manufacturing methods
  • Summarize, document, and communicate testing results to stakeholders
  • Identify, define, and procure tooling and fixtures to meet manufacturing definition
  • Collaborate, communicate, and organize cross shift projects to ensure team objectives progress seamlessly between shifts
