Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc) or equivalent experience
- Automated assembly experience
- Cell layout experience
- MS Office experience
- BIW product understanding & experience
- Sheet metal fabrication and assembly experience
- AutoCad experience
- Plexus experience
- Process improvement skills
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
- Exhibits problem solving & trouble shooting skills
- Product dimensional data analysis skills
- Previous GD&T knowledge
- Interpersonal skills to work with others
Responsibilities
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Creates and maintains job elements sheets and standard work sheets.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
- Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
- Leads and supports lean manufacturing initiatives; including, cost reductions and productivity improvements.
