Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in web development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Drupal, WordPress and frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices, HTTPS, CSP, XSS prevention, and other security measures.
- Experience with backend technologies (Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar) and RESTful API integration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in or strong familiarity with cybersecurity environments is a significant plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of web developers and designers.
- Oversee the architecture, development, and maintenance of all Fortra websites, web applications, and related digital assets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, marketing, and security teams to align web development efforts with business goals.
- Ensure all web applications follow modern security standards (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and are hardened against vulnerabilities.
- Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and documentation procedures.
- Lead sprint planning, code reviews, and agile development cycles.
- Implement performance monitoring and conduct regular audits for SEO, accessibility, and web security.
- Stay current on emerging web technologies, frameworks, and security protocols to ensure innovation and compliance.
- Partner with DevOps and Security teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, secure deployment practices, and site reliability protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with web analytics, A/B testing, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR as they relate to web operations.
- Experience with static site generators or headless CMS (e.g., Gatsby, Next.js, Sanity, Contentful).
