Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in test system development, automation, or related fields, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in test equipment design, instrumentation, and data acquisition for electrochemical or high-power systems.
- Experience with procurement, supplier management, and fabrication processes.
- Demonstrated ability to drive structured engineering processes, including documentation and safety assessments.
- Familiarity with HAZID, FMEA, or other risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for the end-to-end development of test systems, from concept to deployment.
- Own the technical direction of test infrastructure design, ensuring the systems support battery performance, reliability, and design validation.
- Oversee the procurement of components required for fabrication, balancing cost, lead times, and system requirements.
- Conduct and facilitate HAZID (Hazard Identification) assessments on test systems to proactively mitigate risks and ensure safety compliance.
- Establish and drive a structured product development process, emphasizing documentation best practices to enhance system maintainability and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including test engineers, operations, and safety teams, to ensure alignment on infrastructure needs and integration.
- Provide technical leadership and decision-making around system architectures, instrumentation, and data acquisition strategies.
