Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field with relevant experience in digital, RF, embedded software, or systems engineering.
- BA + 8 years of experience; MA + 6 years of experience.
- Experience managing people in a functional organization as a direct supervisor/manager and/or significant team leadership (IPT lead).
- Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.
- Must have a full understanding of his/her specific engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of engineering process, be proficient in process development and implementation as well as functional organization aspect.
- Familiarity with other Engineering disciplines.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.
- An interim secret clearance is required to start.
- U.S. Citizenship is required in order to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to direct report employees based on organizational goals and company policies.
- Coordinate with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees.
- Evaluate/recommend employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments.
- Assist employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary.
- Provide significant (approximately 80%) direct support to programs and/or other technical efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Subject matter expertise in VHDL/Verilog, embedded software, hardware design or systems engineering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage down, across and up teams.
- Experience with real-time embedded communication systems.
- Hands-on experience with DoD communications systems, including software-defined radio solutions.
- Performs technical planning, functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Experience as a hiring manager responsible for authoring requisitions, conducting interviews, and collaborating with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.
- A current/active DoD secret clearance.
