Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; CPA preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar role in Finance and Accounting, with a blend of public and private sector expertise.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, with a focus on software and SaaS revenue recognition.
  • Proficient in accounting platforms (Zuora, SFDC, NetSuite, etc) and Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Excel power user.)
  • Proven people management skills with a genuine interest in nurturing and developing team members.
  • A curious, continuous learner who stays updated on financial best practices, accounting standards, and SaaS market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our revenue accounting workbooks, policies, ERP (NetSuite), and billing/revenue recognition system (RightRev).
  • Prepare month-end close activities, including revenue recognition journal entries, conduct monthly revenue analytics, and reconcile accounts receivable and deferred revenue.
  • Review material contracts for revenue recognition accuracy and maintain monthly ASC 606 schedules and customer contract type records.
  • Play a key role in the US GAAP Consolidated Audit and serve as the ‘Superuser’ for our ERP system NetSuite and billing/revenue recognition system RightRev.
  • Implement new revenue recognition policies, identify process improvements, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Sr Manager of Revenue Accounting and cross-functional teams to optimize our ASC 606 accounting practices.
  • Partner with FP&A to develop and deliver ongoing revenue forecast analysis and streamline revenue and cost recognition processes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 1–3 people, balancing individual contributions with strategic leadership. Engage in career development conversations to cultivate an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the billing team, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant invoicing processes while supporting the professional growth of the Manager, Billing Operations.
  • Partner with Sales Ops, FP&A, RevOps, and other stakeholders to optimize quote-to-cash workflows, improve billing accuracy, and align billing activities with revenue recognition and financial reporting goals.
  • Oversee billing systems and configurations, implement process improvements, and ensure strong internal controls to support scalability, exception handling, and forecasting accuracy.
