Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Engineering or a related field required
  • 7+ years of experience desired; significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
  • Proficiency with MS Office and related products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio) required
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) required
  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation required
  • Advanced data analytic techniques utilizing Excel, MiniTab, MicroStrategy, PowerBI, SQL
  • Knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100) required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Fluent in English, additional languages like Spanish an advantage
  • Ability to work with teams and independently
  • Ability to work effectively onsite and with remote locations
  • Ability to multi-task and drive critical issues simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Establish and foster key relationships throughout the organization enabling effective performance to execute on commitments and deliver results while driving critical issues simultaneously.
  • Maintain a safe working environment (within the department and across the sites).
  • Lead Internal Audit Program: recruit and training cross functional auditors, schedule audits, and plan learning activates with auditors and auditees.
  • Lead and maintain Site Calibration Program: ensure the onetime calibration of measurement equipment and systems. When required, determine adequacy of equipment with statistical analysis (GR&R & MSA).
  • Participate in the Badger Meter performance management process including the evaluation of employee performance and the recommendation of merit increases.
  • Lead NCMR/CAR/CAPA programs: provide timely disposition of non-conformances and properly identifying containment, root cause, corrective/preventive actions, verification activities, and follow up to assess effectiveness.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) teams to identify, schedule, and execute all quality related deliverables.
  • Support SQDCE metric development and collaborate cross functionally within a multi-site environment.
  • Identify opportunities for the improvement of quality procedures, product designs, manufacturing processes, and equipment. Continually drive to improve product uniformity while eliminating/minimizing non-conformances.
  • Support the creation, review, and improvement of Badger Meter quality acceptance standards (QAS). Identify key industry standards and leverage them to drive uniformity within Badger Meter practices.
  • Lead training needs with APQP, problem-solving, root cause analysis, process capability, measurement system analysis, and other data analytic techniques. Preferred problem-solving techniques; 8-Step, 8D, and/or A3.
  • Mentor site quality teams to develop skills and expand capabilities.
  • Maintain professional level and technical skills through memberships in technical and professional societies, and by attending appropriate courses and seminars.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma practitioner, Black Belt certification preferred
  • Strong Project Management Skills, certification preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills, preferred techniques; 8-Step, 8D, and/or A3
