Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in communications, media relations, or public relations, with a focus on consumer and sports media.
- Deep understanding of the sports media landscape, including trends, audience preferences, and industry dynamics.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with media professionals and industry influencers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting clear, engaging narratives.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, particularly within consumer-facing or sports-related organizations.
- Knowledge of analytics and media monitoring tools and platforms.
- Ability to adapt messaging for various audiences, including sports fans, consumers, and industry stakeholders.
- Experience working with influencers and cultivating influencer programs for brands.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communications strategies that position the brand favorably within consumer and sports media outlets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and sports industry stakeholders.
- Create compelling press materials, including press releases, media pitches, and other PR documents and content.
- Assist in managing communications during sensitive or high-pressure situations, providing clear, concise messaging to protect and enhance the brand’s reputation.
- Lead the communications efforts for events, sponsorships, and partnerships, including press conferences, product launches, sports activations, and athlete partnerships.
- Monitor media coverage, track key performance metrics, and analyze media sentiment to measure the success of communication campaigns.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including PR, marketing, commercial strategy, sales, and legal to ensure alignment on communications goals and messaging across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with sports teams, athletes, or major sports events.
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities a plus (English, Spanish, French)
