Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/University degree required
  • 5+ years of Government Relations, Public Affairs or Political experience, or equivalent, including at least 3 years managing a corporate or trade association PAC
  • Strong understanding of FEC campaign finance rules and regulations as they relate to corporations
  • Experience creating and maintaining accurate budgets, schedules and timelines for projects
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and Firm related tools (Slack) and PAC Management Tools
  • Proficiency and fluency in verbal and written English is required
  • Excellent skillset across relevant communication service lines and platforms (e.g., external/internal comms, media relations, events, executive comms)
  • Outstanding communication skills across formats (e.g., written, verbal/presentation, digital-ready content) and ability to apply them to develop and execute a strategy across portfolio of communications channels
  • Ability to manage various projects simultaneously and work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced and ambiguous operating environment, while driving for quality implementation and excellence
  • Excellent ability to influence colleagues, and manage needs of different stakeholders (including relevant senior leaders)
  • Outstanding critical reasoning and problem-solving skills, including ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of McKinsey’s Political Action Committee (PAC), including managing fundraisers, processing contributions, and handling the disbursement of funds as approved by the PAC Board
  • Establish both short- and long-term goals, creating and executing strategies and communication plans to drive engagement and growth
  • Develop recognition programs to enhance contributions, retain donors, and drive higher levels of engagement
  • Provide staffing and support for monthly PAC Governance Board meetings and annual PAC Board meetings, including coordinating schedules, drafting agendas, preparing meeting materials, and generating report-outs
  • Track all contribution requests and ensure that records of disbursements are up to date
  • Collaborate with the Head of Public Affairs and Public Affairs Directors to design, execute, and coordinate PAC-sponsored fundraising events through engaging senior executives and elected officials
  • Manage all aspects of PAC-related compliance, including Federal Election Commission filings, tax filings, audits, and other disclosure requirements
  • Manage relationships with external consultants and vendors
  • Represent the Firm at select political events, amplifying McKinsey’s insights and values, while also initiating and managing special campaigns aimed at strengthening the Firm’s relationships with elected officials and policymakers
