Requirements

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in social media management and content strategy, with a track record of successfully growing social media channels for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex healthcare content into engaging social media narratives.
  • Strong experience in managing and mentoring junior social media team members.
  • Deep understanding of social media best practices, algorithms, and emerging trends across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X).
  • Experience with social media management and listening tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Talkwalker).
  • Experience working with design teams to articulate social media creative needs and the ability to create graphics on-demand outside of the design team as needed in self-service platforms such as Canva or similar.
  • Proficiency with regularly incorporating AI into workflows to enhance productivity and quality output advantages.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and oversee projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with DaVita’s brand voice, marketing objectives, and business goals across multiple audiences (patients, physicians, payors, policymakers).
  • Conduct thorough audits and competitive analyses to identify growth opportunities within the kidney care space, staying ahead of industry trends, algorithm updates, and compliance considerations.
  • Identify and leverage social media trends, viral content opportunities, and new channels to maximize engagement and reach.
  • Develop compelling and cohesive storytelling moments across key content pillars to influence perception through narrative shaping.
  • Lead the creation and curation of high-quality, engaging social media content (text, images, videos) by expertly translating long-form healthcare editorial content into concise, compelling social-ready formats tailored for specific audiences that is effective for both organic and paid opportunities.
  • Ensure brand consistency and strict adherence to healthcare regulations across all social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content marketing, design, video production, corporate communications) to ensure seamless content integration and a unified brand message.
  • High involvement in weekly editorial committee meetings to stay updated on relevant communication initiatives, content sourcing opportunities, and to provide updates on social media efforts to wider team.
  • Develop and manage a robust content calendar, scheduling and posting across all platforms based on best practices and performance analytics.
  • Leverage emerging technologies such as AI tools to augment and enhance content creation development and ideation.
  • Manage and mentor a junior social media direct report(s), providing guidance, fostering their development, and ensuring efficient execution of social media activities.
  • Lead community interactions, responding to questions and comments, and escalating issues as needed, maintaining an approved, compliant response library.
  • Develop and manage a brand ambassador program, engaging key internal and external influencers in the kidney care community.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing comprehensive monthly reports on both paid and organic social media efforts.
  • Analyze engagement metrics, audience insights, and campaign performance to continually refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilize social listening tools to track brand mentions, sentiment, and relevant conversations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare experience preferred; strong understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).
