Manager – Legal and Risk Management

A bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in property management operations is required.
Experience in dispute and conflict resolution, fair housing compliance, and risk management of legal matters related to landlord-tenant laws, leases, residents, and crime and security is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of general legal terms, laws, and procedures related to the apartment industry, contracts, and leases are preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Products, including Excel and Word, is required.

Evaluate and manage matters related to landlord/tenant law, including resident issues and disputes, AMLI’s policies and procedures, and changes in law such as evolving eviction and renewals, fair housing compliance, and rent control.
Evaluate, investigate, and identify crime, security, and other liability concerns and collaborate on company initiatives with local, regional, and senior management.
Evaluate, investigate, manage, and resolve resident issues via AMLI’s online incident reporting system in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Evaluate, investigate, and administer general liability incidents, including timely filing of claims and coordination with insurers and assigned legal counsel managing claims that progress to litigation.
Liaison with outside counsel to ensure legally compliant lease documents, policies, and procedures and to assist with dispute resolution, as necessary.
Participate in Legal & Risk Management educational opportunities.
