Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in human factors engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of leading human factors engineering teams and developing and implementing human factors strategies
  • Strong knowledge of human factors engineering principles, including usability testing, human-centered design, and risk analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with regulatory requirements related to human factors engineering, including FDA guidelines and ISO 13485
  • Strong leadership and management skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement human factors engineering strategies to support the development of safe and effective products
  • Lead the human factors team to ensure the delivery of high-quality human factors engineering services
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement organizational human factors goals and objectives
  • Conduct human factors assessments and usability testing to identify and mitigate potential risks and usability issues
  • Develop and implement human factors design guidelines and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop products that meet human factors engineering requirements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to human factors engineering, including FDA guidelines and ISO 13485
  • Develop and maintain human factors documentation, including user manuals, instructions for use, and labeling
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on human factors engineering principles and best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that human factors engineering principles are integrated into the organization’s overall quality management system
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Engineering, and Clinical Affairs, to ensure that human factors engineering principles are integrated into product development
  • Communicate human factors engineering findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including product development teams, regulatory agencies, and customers
