Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, or materials), materials science, chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience (3+ with a PhD) in battery, fuel cell, or electrochemical device development, with a proven track record of technical accomplishments and leadership in an industrial R&D environment.
- In-depth knowledge of electrochemical systems, battery materials, cell design principles, and manufacturing processes, coupled with a strong understanding of electrochemical performance characterization and testing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, build consensus, and foster collaboration across diverse teams and disciplines.
- Proven ability to identify and solve complex technical problems, analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions to drive innovation and optimization.
- A genuine enthusiasm for advancing the field of battery technology and a strong desire to contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead and manage structured initiatives to enhance cell performance, cost, and reliability by utilizing industry-standard methodologies such as Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Work closely with component teams to translate product-level requirements into clear and actionable specifications for individual cell components, fostering seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Collaborate closely with the program management team to develop and maintain a comprehensive program plan, ensuring that development, testing, and validation activities are aligned with project milestones and deadlines.
- Recruit, mentor, and inspire a team of top-tier battery engineers and scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in battery technology, materials science, and manufacturing processes, and identify opportunities to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into cell design and development.
- Effectively communicate technical progress, challenges, and results to senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, providing clear and actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.
