Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in program or project management, strategic planning, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level materials such as presentations and reports.
- Proven ability to manage timelines, facilitate meetings, and drive accountability across teams.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Provide program management oversight across the Career Success project portfolio.
- Define project scopes, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs; ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with strategic goals.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across the Career Success teams.
- Drive communication and accountability by coordinating regular stakeholder meetings, monitoring progress, and surfacing key decisions and roadblocks.
- Produce weekly project status reports and maintain dashboards for the leadership team to monitor progress and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement change management plans to support successful project delivery and the effective adoption of new tools, systems, and processes.
- Lead the creation of communication plans, training resources, and engagement strategies to support implementation and rollout.
- Partner with the Assistant Vice Provost to identify and prioritize high-impact stakeholder engagements, ensuring alignment with Academic Affairs goals and Career Success priorities.
- Build and cultivate strategic relationships to accelerate facilitated collaborations across campus and with external partners.
- Coordinate preparation for executive-level meetings by developing strategic briefing materials, slide decks, and other communications that clearly convey key messages and project updates.
- Serve as a thought partner in surfacing opportunities, sequencing meetings for maximum impact, and ensuring stakeholder interactions are timely, targeted, and well-supported.
- Track follow-up actions from strategic engagements to ensure accountability and continued progress on Career Success priorities.
- Build and refine internal systems and processes to support scalable, campus-wide implementation of Career Success initiatives.
- Collaborate with Career Success leadership to refine infrastructure for project tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Prosci Change Management, or other relevant certification.
- Experience working in or with higher education institutions, particularly in student success or career services.
- Familiarity with setting up and using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana)
- Knowledge of UT Austin’s organizational structure, systems, or governance processes.
- Experience leading change management or governance efforts in complex organizations.
