Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar discipline with 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or related field.
• Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar discipline with no prior experience needed in the pharmaceutical or related field.

Responsibilities

• Execution of development work as outlined by Senior Scientist and in collaboration with others on projects.
• Execution of small-scale recombinant protein purification experiments using chromatography (AKTA platform), filtration, clarification/ depth filtration, column packing, and tangential flow filtration independently based on expert knowledge of protein purification and analysis with an in depth understanding of all modes of chromatography. Sample testing (BCA, SDS-PAGE/Western Blot, Purity, SRID, etc.).
• Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results. Exercise technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to projects.
• Commercial manufacturing shop-floor support as needed.
• Preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
• Follows documented procedures.
• Participates in general lab maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting chromatography workstations and process skids
• SDS PAGE and Western Blot, SRID, BCA, Purity, etc.
• Knowledge and experience working with automated high throughput process development equipment.
• Working knowledge of scientific principles and concerns
• Manufacturing support systems including change controls, deviations, CAPA, root cause analysis, etc.
• Good documentation practices (GDP). Experience in writing standard operating procedures (SOP), batch records, and reports
