Requirements

  • Any combination equivalent of high school and two or more years of experience at journey level in one or more of the trades with emphasis in the electrical area.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by coursework or training in electrical and fire codes, modern electrical repair and telecommunication, maintenance repair.
  • Possession of a valid Missouri Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
  • Insurability by the facility’s liability insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the variety of tools and equipment utilized in the performance of duties in multiple trades.
  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Test and evaluate electronic systems and installations.
  • Install, maintain, and repair various types of electrical equipment, including clocks, alarms, and communications systems.
  • Plan and layout skilled work, including estimating time and material cost.
  • Skillfully use a variety of hand and power tools, machines and equipment utilized in the repair, maintenance and building trades.
  • Comply with appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions and standard work procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Maintain routine records.
  • Observe legal and defensive driving principles.
  • Practice proper safety practices in the operation of equipment.
  • Maintain daily time sheets and records of work accomplished.
