Requirements

  • Must have High school diploma or GED. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of industrial machinery maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals, procedures and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of basic principles required to repair centrifugal pumps and reciprocating and centrifugal compressors.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical machinery within refinery to minimize downtime, maximize reliability and ensure compliance.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. (MPC determines valid status.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
  • Travel Requirement is 5 % less.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise craft work group to ensure maintenance work is efficiently executed without incident in an environmentally compliant manner.
  • Ensure assigned craft personnel are adequately trained for their job assignment.
  • Maintain visible and active field presence to promote safe working environment and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
  • Assist in setting schedules. Monitor and appraises progress to ensure productivity, work quality and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure team understands work scope and performance expectations. Assist with troubleshooting. Ensure work orders are satisfactorily completed and properly closed out.
  • Promote proactive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) focus.
  • Communicate daily activities related to manpower, accomplishments and problem areas to management.
  • Participate in audits and near-miss/incident investigations. Follow-up on safety issues until closure. Active member of safety committee.
  • Coordinate with planning and scheduling to ensure appropriateness of job packages. Ensure materials used comply with current engineering standards. Identify and resolve delays that would prevent schedule attainment. Participate in maintenance cost control including challenging need for discretionary work.
  • Collaborate with other foremen, planning & scheduling and reliability teams to develop repair strategies and maintain reliability of refinery plant mechanical equipment in support of continuous operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience in refinery and/or petrochemical facility is preferred.
  • Able to obtain a TWIC Card is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
