Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Mechanical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years equipment maintenance experience in a Powder Coatings facility or 8-10 years equipment maintenance experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and SAP enterprise system.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in Engineering Technology related to plant maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team comprised of a Contract Administrator, MRO Buyer/Scheduler, Mechanics & Electricians by reviewing the facility’s maintenance needs on a daily basis and directing them in a timely manner.
  • Develop relevant Maintenance KPIs and strive for Continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and train Mechanics with a reliability-driven mindset rather than reactive maintenance.
  • Create, modify, and review the preventative maintenance (PM) program to improve equipment availability.
  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in equipment and serve as the Subject Matter Expert.
  • Review job orders to determine work priorities. Schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
  • Ensure that the Contract Administrator manages the scheduling and personnel for outside contractors to meet project goals in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct RCFA on maintenance-related failures.
  • Approve requisitions and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, supplies and spare parts.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure that it conforms with blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Update maintenance job procedures.
  • Responsible for creating/monitoring/maintaining critical spare parts list and inventory.
  • Proactively offer recommendations in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the process.
  • Initiate areas of opportunity to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Assume role as permanent member of the Safety Committee.
  • Assist the Accounting Department in coordinating ‘Annual Inventory’ of spare parts.
  • Approve maintenance timecards and manage the time-off process to ensure proper coverage so as not to reduce the downtime of equipment.
  • Administer the following management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws: interviewing, hiring, training, delegation of work, performance appraisals, disciplinary efforts, employee recognition, complaint investigations and problem resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six sigma green belt certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Reliability improvement tools a plus.
