Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience required.
- Ability to learn and consistently apply modern precision maintenance techniques for coupled and belt driven equipment.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and ordinances related to facilities plumbing, electrical, and renovation tasks performed.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment schematics.
- Applicable State licenses such as Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC held in high regard.
- May require occasional shift work including nights, holidays and weekends to support special projects or events.
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required during which a response time of 45 minutes or less is needed.
- Will require occasional travel for reasons such as training or project support.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs on piping and plumbing systems including fixtures, water fountain, bathroom equipment; steam and process hot water systems including control and isolation valves, steam traps, heat exchangers, pumps, and associated equipment; process equipment including tunnel washers, rack washers, bottle washers, autoclaves, bedding dispensers and drying cabinets, water treatment systems, etc. (60%)
- Participates in major component replacement and evaluation of complex system problems. (10%)
- Provides general clean up, housekeeping, and maintenance of mechanical equipment rooms. (10%)
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned based on the needs of the day. (10%)
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. (10%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicable State licenses such as Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC held in high regard.
