Requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs
  • Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a documented total productive maintenance system in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements
  • Work with Manufacturing and Controls Engineers on plant and system changes
  • Directs workers in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Electronic Torque monitoring equipment and Allen Bradley systems and to make system modifications and changes as requested
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery
  • Supervises the maintenance HVAC system, security systems and other equipment
  • Works with Production Manager on equipment modifications and improvement
  • Submits monthly reports related to Maintenance Department activity to Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Sets the schedule and supervises the tracking of preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Confers with other supervisors/production managers to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Coordinates the training of Maintenance Technicians
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Manages the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary
  • Coordinates the removal and re-installation of tools during the annual tool calibration and predictive maintenance overhauls
  • Manages the cleaning service activities and supplies
  • Manages grounds keeping requirements such as lawn care, snow removal, city ordinance compliance
  • Manages the plants work order, PM, repair and downtime tracking systems
  • Manages the Spill Response team
  • Manages the hot work and safety permit process and procedure
  • Manages vehicle fleet maintenance and repairs for shipping trailers and company vehicles
  • Interpret company quality policy and Operating Description Sheets to workers
  • Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process
  • Ensure required Safety Audits are complete for you and your team
  • Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas
  • Will follow and promote environmental management system compliance and commitment to resource conservation
  • Documentation of injury reports
  • Complete statements as needed
  • Participation in the Accident Investigation team
  • Conduct safety audits weekly, monthly
  • Ensure safety standards are met
  • Have safety audits completed on a timely basis
  • Complete safety related work orders
  • Participate in safety communications weekly/monthly events such as plant wide meeting, pre-Shift meeting, department meetings, and training exercises
  • Any miscellaneous duties as assigned by your Dept. Mgr.
