Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse Program (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse Program (LPN)
- Current appropriate state licensure and BLS certification required
- 1 – 2 years’ related experience
- Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite is necessary
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- Successfully complete CPR Certification
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care pre, during and post procedure utilizing standard nursing techniques
- Document patient related information in the individual patient record
- Report any significant information, change in patient condition or equipment problems to the supervising RN
- Confirm written orders, consents and lab work are completed and documented in accordance with facility policies
- Act as scrub technologist to assist the physician during a procedure; maintaining sterile technique
- Set up instrument trays for procedures
- Assist with all emergency operational procedures
- Administer intravenous medication in accordance with physician orders and state nurse practice laws
- Maintain medication usage logs with appropriate documentation
- Perform and document pre, interim and post procedural review of patient condition
- Initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and respond to emergency situations related to vascular access services
- Transport patients as needed
- Safely operate all appropriate equipment according to the proper procedures
- Ensure a clean, safe and sanitary environment in the facility at all times
- Ensure all blood spills are immediately addressed according to USV/FMCNA Bloodborne Pathogen Control Policies
- Ensure that medical records are accurate and complete prior to discharge of patient
- Assist with the inventory and purchasing of supplies, as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, training and orientation as assigned
- Comply with HIPPA policies and standards regarding patient information and medical records
- Participate in cost control initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center/Vascular Access Lab, or a combination of ASC, surgical, Interventional Radiology and ICU/CCU experience
- Minimum of two years Interventional Radiology, scrub experience preferred
