Logistics Technician

Performing work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on backorders, estimated ship dates, SSP (Supplier Shipping Performance), past due schedules, inventory and turns. Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain. (ie: Microsoft, Excel, MRC (Materials Requirement Collaboration), SAP).
Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Execute schedule adjustments through collaboration, order min/mults, EOQs (Economic Order Quantity), lost or misdirected shipments, transportation issues, ASN (Advanced Shipping Notifications) issues, E/C (Engineering Change) level or material code changes, backorder escalation, and all other supplier issues impacting performance targets.

Execute Monthly Supplier Shipping Performance Process
Participate in all projects and meetings to support performance targets improvements and OPACC (Operating Profit After Capital Charges) improvement initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics Management
Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all process partners and customers at all levels
APICS CPIM (American Production and Inventory Control Society, Certified in Planning and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) National Certification, or 6 Sigma Project experience
Strong mathematical, critical thinking, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Experience with parts product structure, global purchasing and distribution practices
Knowledge of Caterpillar product structure and organization of Caterpillar parts information and technical information databases
Ability to accept increasing responsibility
